Quality, Cost & Statistics

Quality Over Quantity!
Plato is a state license facility for a maximum capacity of 12 students; however the AVERAGE registered student at Plato have never exceeded 5.8. Our goal is to keep it at an average of 6 students so we can maintain the quality of care.

Cost
ONE Time Registration Fee $100; this was $150 for two years; however, through automation we were able keep our costs DOWN...so we are transferring the cost savings to our clients. Three days or less the daily rate is $110; more than three days the daily rate is $105. The daily rates include EVERYTHING except food and extra clothing for your child.

Our RATIO is 1:1 for infants under 6-months and less than 2:1 until they are 9-months old before going to a 2:1 until they leave at 2 or 2.5 years! Our outdoors ratio is 1:1 for students who is NOT walking and 2:1 for students who are walking. Diapers, wipes and Ointments; these items are offered to help make drop-off easier. Some tangible cost that Plato covers: PJ’s for nap-time, linen for pack-n-play (this gets changed twice a week or daily when the child is sick), blankets, bibs and burp-cloth.

Monthly tuition is debited on the 3rd or 5th of each month via ACH. A paid invoice is provided to each client by the 10th day of each month. Because Plato is a registered business in the state of IL we participate in ALL flexible spending programs.

Statistics
  • Language & Cognitive: using the Baley-III as our measuring tool; more than 80% of our students are above the 90th percentile for language and cognitive at the time they start pre-school (start at 6 months or younger).
  • New Clients: referrals make-up 90% of our clients over the past 4 years.
  • Education Level of the Director, Staff & Helpers: the director holds a Masters in Statistics, the other staff holds at most a college degree or higher; some in early childhood others with baby-nurse training. The director and the full time staff have training in baby-nurse; this training enables them to set routine and schedule with ease; this information is shared with the parents.
  • Staff Turnover Ratio: the average duration of employment for the graduate students is 22 months. We’ve had the same full time staff for 3 years and some of our staff from 5-years ago returns for seasonal employment.
  • Siblings: 87% of the Plato clients who did not relocate to the suburbs after their 2nd child choose Plato for their 2nd child.
  • Reasons for Departure: the #1 reason clients leave Plato is due to relocating to the suburbs and the #2 reason is out-of-state relocating for work related purposes. Students would otherwise stay until they are ready for pre-school.
